It's another week in this new year so we've got another chance to make the little changes in our lifestyles that amount to BIG results. Sometimes it can be hard to stay motivated, so try to have a fitness partner.
Walking alone - boring! Cooking healthy food in a kitchen alone - depressing! It doesn't matter if your buddy is your wife, husband, sister, brother, best friend, co-worker, neighbor, or even if they live across the country or the world.
Humans are social creatures and we need the social reassurance, along with a community built on support, that we're doing a good job. A lot can be said for the "accountabili-buddy" system when it comes to fitness. It's easy to let yourself down each day, skipping the gym or your walk, because you're the only person that you're affecting. Planning work outs with a buddy will help motivate you, because you can't let your buddy down!
